A Quick Hello

Busy, busy, busy with the holidays, but wanted to take a moment to wish .....

May everyone have a very blessed day filled with lots of family, great food and wonderful memories!  God bless!

Another Great Workout!

So, this is what Skye looks like after 3,908 steps or 1.23 miles!  Definitely got my sweat on!!!  lol

Goooo ME!!!   : ))

Gratitude

I just finished walking 3,527 steps or 1.1 miles!!!

WOO HOO!!!

I have not done this since before my accident; which makes this a double accomplishment!  I'm feeling a little pain right now, but as they say, no pain - no gain!  Or in our cases, no loss!  lol

And I have Smasher Girl and Monica to thank for this!!!  I had been feeling really down these last couple of days, but thanks to their kind words and encouragement, I was able to find my motivation once again!

THANKS TO THE BOTH OF YOU!!!

Words can not express how much I appreciate y'all!!!

2nd Round with Buffet .....

Not so good.  Sad to say, it was an epic fail!  : ((

Yesterday, was another extremely difficult day for me.  As I've written before, I've been struggling lately with being constantly hungry.  And I'm still not sure why.

Seeing as this is my 5th week on Jenny, I am back to the same menu I had my very 1st week and I was never hungry then.

So, why was the 1st week so easy and this is so not?!?  Beyond me.

My hubby decided he wanted to go back to Ryan's.  I was thinking, "Okay, no problem. I handled that very well last time."  Wrong!

Problem # 1:  We left as soon as I woke, without eating a thing first, so I was starved by the time we got there.

Problem # 2:  I skipped the salad bar and went straight for food; including 2 rolls with honey butter! smh!

Problem # 3:  I ate everything in sight; including dessert!

Now, the magic question being, WHY DO I CONTINUE TO DO THIS TO MYSELF?!?  I was doing soooo good!  Why mess it up?!?!

Again, beyond me.

I have no inkling of a clue as to how many calories I consumed yesterday at Ryan's.

But what I do know is .....

AND I REFUSE TO FAIL!!!

"The power of your thoughts can open any door and you can set yourself free." ~  Lucy MacDonald

When I came across this quote and pic, it said so much to me.  Amazing how, sometimes the simplest things can be the most powerful.

Already at a Crossroad .....

Wednesday, 12/14, was my 4th weigh-in with Jenny.  I lost another 3.0 lbs; for a total of 18.6 my very first month.

I should have been elated!  Instead, I've been feeling lousy.  Not even sure why.

Today, all I wanted to do was eat.  Nothing I ate made me feel full.  And nothing I ate made me feel satisfied either.

This REALLY scares me.

My consultant, Stacy, told me the average weight loss during the 1st month on Jenny is 8-10 lbs.  Obviously, I superseded that!  So, why am I feeling like this?!?  I should be on cloud 9!

Praying it goes away soon.  I have so far to go.  I need to find a way to stay motivated.

P.S.  And TOM is no where in sight so, unfortunately, he can't be blamed.  : ((

Chili's Texas Cheese Fries with Ranch

Normally, this is my downfall.

All 1,960 calories, 136 grams of fat, 109 carbs & 5,370 grams of sodium!

And, yes, I usually consume the entire order by myself!  What can I say?  I don't like sharing.  lol

And to think,  that would just be my appetizer!  And I wonder why I'm the size I am!?!  Geez.

Well on a positive note, I am extremely proud to share, my hubby and I visited Chili's on Saturday night and I skipped the Cheese Fries entirely!!!  Even though my hubby ordered them!  I did not have one single bite!  Only cause I knew, if I did, it wouldn't stop with one.  So, I avoided them like the plague!  (( :

Truth be told, I truly believe that had to be one of the hardest things I've ever done (food wise).  And I honestly don't think my husband has a clue as to how difficult that was for me!

And while we're being honest..... I wasn't too thrilled with any of their "healthy" selections.  There really isn't much to choose from.  I ended up settling for the Margarita Grilled Chicken.

Normally, it comes with rice and black beans.  However, I skipped the beans and rice and opted for Steamed Broccoli.

Can you believe, my chicken had the same amount of fat as the broccoli?!?  What the heck?!?  Even though it says "steamed", they must add something to it.  And that's just for 1 serving!  It came with two, but I only ate half so my meal came to a total of 300 calories and 12 grams of fat.

Thankfully, the broccoli was very tasty.  It just melted in your mouth.  Chewing was not even necessary.  lol  The chicken wasn't too bad either.

I still can not believe I'm actually eating broccoli!  Amazes me every time!  lol

Hooray for another NSV!!

Deck the Halls

This year, we decorated for the holidays with Alaina & her boyfriend, Dezmon.  Definitely different!  lol  But in a good way!  ( :  Looks as though our little family is starting new traditions.  And sometimes, new is exactly what's needed.  And God knows, our family is definitely in need of something new.

So here we are, 5 days later, and we were finally able to all have off of work so we could decorate.  Not too shabby considering we purchased it via flashlight!  lol

Now, just don't zoom in too close!  4 of us and none could remember to start on the right end!  lol  We strung up the whole tree and had nothing to plug in!  lol  Needless to say, we figured out a way.  ( ;

Memories..... gotta love 'em!

P.S.  The snowman hanging on the wall behind the tree was handmade by Alaina when she was just 5 yrs old, some 12 years ago!  (( :

Conquering the Dreaded Buffet

This morning, my hubby called to see if I would like to have lunch with him.  He had to go to the city to pick up some parts for the shop so we would have about 4 hours to spend together.

I was initially thrilled, to be able to spend the extra time with him, but I was also a bit nervous because I knew he wouldn't be "dressed" to eat at a nice restaurant.  And healthy choices at fast-food places are so darn limited!

We talked about different choices, on our way there; with his being, "anywhere with a good salad".  So, I suggested Ryan's or Golden Corral; both buffets.  Now, wait..... before you think, "she's done lost her mind!!!"  lol  I figured, their salad choices are really large, we could customize them to our taste and control exactly what would be in them.  Now, the key, was going to make sure we stayed away from all the other stuff!  lol

We ended up opting for Ryan's and I am very proud to say, I did GREAT!  : ))

I had a rather large veggie salad with ff dressing on the side; which I dipped my fork into.  I managed to skip all the goodies; bacon, cheese, eggs, croutons, etc.  I then opted for a small piece of baked fish with lots of grilled veggies; zucchini, squash, peppers and onions.  And for dessert, I chose fresh fruits; pineapple chunks, strawberries, orange slices & grapes.  And that's it.  That's all I ate.  And I drank water. Lots and lots of water.  And yes, I even managed to skip the hot rolls with honey butter that was brought to our table!

I still can not believe I was able to control myself!  In the past, this has always been sooooo difficult for me!  Today?  Not so bad.  Sure, it was tempting, but I was actually able to manage.

Now, I only wish I could say the same for my hubby...... ( ;

Week 3 Weigh-In

Well, guess my anxiety was for nothing, cause I still managed to lose 3 lbs!!!

WOO HOO!!!

And to think, I almost skipped my weigh-in!  smh  Can you imagine the disaster that would have been!?!?!  I would have assumed I had gained, not gotten any of my Jenny meals for the new week and then one week off program would have turned into two and so and so on!

Thank you Jesus for giving me the courage and strength to walk into that building today!

Really anxious for my weigh-in later on today.  Although it was a really good week, food and exercise wise, Aunt Flo and TOM are visiting right now; and as usual, they've brought a ton of baggage!  : (

Shopping at it's Finest!

Well, today was definitely a first.

Christmas tree shopping...

in the dark...

with a flashlight...

cause the power was out!

And to top things off, it started raining!  smh

Let's just say, this will be a very memorable year!  lol

A Clean Slate!

If you've visited here before, you'll definitely notice a few changes.  As usual, I wanted a fresh, clean start; hence, the title.  ( :

Three weeks ago tomorrow, I joined Jenny for the very first time.  To say, I am impressed, would be an understatement!  So far, I've lost 12.6 lbs!  And the food is absolutely amazing!

The only problem ..... not being able to talk about it enough!  lol  There are only a few people who know I'm even doing this.

Reason being?

I have serious trust issues.  Bottom line.  In the past, I have encountered way too many saboteurs.  Sad, I know.

However, I am extremely grateful to have the unconditional support of my husband and my daughter as well as a couple of very good friends.  Honestly, I don't know what I would do without them.

And speaking of the truth ..... I've really missed blogging!!  It was always such a great escape so I'm really looking forward to seeing where this new journey will take me!

Happy travels!
